Workspace

Purpose

Define the standard developer workspace model for PotatoLabs products.

Standard location

The standard workspace model is:

/srv/potatolabs/projects/<product>

This directory is the developer workspace and checkout, not the source of truth.

Workspace responsibilities

• Hold the local clone of the product repository
• Provide a place to edit, test, and validate changes
• Match the repository content closely enough that the developer can review diffs and run checks

code-server usage

code-server is the developer environment used to open the workspace, edit files, inspect the repository, and run approved local validation tasks.

Expected workspace state

• Repository cloned correctly
• Remote origin verified
• Correct branch checked out
• Local tooling available
• Documentation and build commands discoverable
