Build¶
Purpose¶
Define how product builds are produced and validated.
Build responsibilities¶
- The build system should produce reproducible artifacts
- Build inputs should be documented or discoverable
- Build output should be traceable to the source revision
Platform capability model¶
A build may rely on product-appropriate capabilities such as:
- Docker
- systemd
- PM2
- Native tooling
No single runtime or packaging technology is mandatory for every product.
Validation¶
A build is acceptable when it can be reproduced from the repository and approved inputs.
