Product Model

Purpose

Define how a PotatoLabs product fits into the platform and the delivery workflow.

Standard model

• GitLab repository: source of truth
• /srv/potatolabs/projects/<product>: developer workspace and checkout
• code-server: interactive developer environment
• GitLab CI/CD: automated validation, build, release, and deployment workflow
• Production runtime: deployed product environment

Platform capabilities

A product may use platform capabilities such as:

• Docker
• systemd
• PM2
• Nginx
• PostgreSQL
• Redis

These are capabilities, not mandatory requirements for every product.

Product responsibilities

A product owns its application behavior, release content, runtime configuration, and documentation that is specific to the product.

Operational model

The product model must support the full lifecycle from repository creation through monitoring and iteration.
