Prepare a specific build or version as a candidate for production release.

- Testing is complete
- Known issues are understood

- Release notes or equivalent summary

- Mark the candidate version
- Confirm release readiness
- Review deployment readiness and rollback expectations
Engineering responsibilities¶
- Verify that the candidate is the intended artifact

- Summarize candidate status and validation evidence
- Do not promote a candidate without approval
