Deployment

Purpose

Define how a product is deployed and verified in a target environment.

Deployment patterns

Deployment is treated as a capability-driven concern, not a fixed technology choice.

Possible capabilities include:

• Docker
• systemd
• PM2
• Nginx
• PostgreSQL
• Redis

Required expectations

• Deployment should use the approved release artifact
• Runtime configuration should be explicit and documented
• Health checks should exist for the deployed product
• Rollback and recovery should be defined before production deployment
• Deployment credentials and environment secrets must not be stored in source control

Production runtime

The production runtime may differ from the developer workspace and does not have to share the same directory layout or technology stack.
